All activities of the Consortium are conducted with volunteers from the constituent member societies and organizations. A six-member steering committee provides the planning and leadership for the CCR and reports to the Consortium at regularly scheduled bi-monthly meetings of the member representatives.<\/p>\n

Activities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Meeting bi-monthly for networking purposes and to discuss relevant research issues<\/li>\n
  2. Circulating minutes following each meeting<\/li>\n
  3. Addressing funding issues, whether by convening meetings with funding agency representatives, developing letter writing campaigns and\/or developing funding-related \u201casks\u201d to submit to government<\/li>\n
  4. Hosting a regular annual breakfast with the Presidents of Canada\u2019s funding agencies to discuss research priorities<\/li>\n
  5. Requesting the opportunity to listen to the budget release on Parliament Hill<\/li>\n
  6. Responding to the federal budget<\/li>\n
  7. Submitting briefs to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance<\/li>\n
  8. Setting up meetings with MPs to discuss the CCR\u2019s \u201casks\u201d as per our submission to the Finance Committee<\/li>\n
  9. Developing summary documents of our \u201casks\u201d<\/li>\n
